ML ELEVATOR SPEECH

ML Elevator Speech (Individual Event)

Overview

This event gives members a chance to describe the benefits that FBLA has for middle-level members.  It also gives members an opportunity to develop their speech-writing skills.

Topic

You and the other FBLA middle school members at your school are attending a CTSO Legislative Day at your State Capitol. You are introduced to one of your local legislators and he/she asks what FBLA is. In a 30-second elevator speech, share with the legislator an example of a chapter activity that you've participated in and how you have benefitted from membership in FBLA.

Guidelines

1. Students must come prepared to leave at least one visual (3 copies) with the judges that they prepared (flyer, brochure, etc.) about the FBLA, and a business card.

2. Speech may be no longer than 30 seconds in length.

3. Judges will role-play the part of the Mayor and can ask up to 2 questions for student response after the competitor has finished the speech.

Eligibility

Each Middle Level chapter may enter members who are on record in the FBLA-PBL Online Membership System as having paid dues by the officially published deadline for the current school year.
