More about Elizabeth
Elizabeth Young, a sophomore at Sandra Day O'Connor High School, is so honored and excited to join FBLA Arizona's Team 63! As a freshman entering high school, Elizabeth was shy and interested in broadening her social and academic horizons. After discovering FBLA, she joined the club and began to feel a sense of community and made numerous valuable friendships with club members. Some of her best memories and a large portion of her camera roll are dedicated to the amazing memories made during her two years of participating in FBLA with her friends and the people that she has met along the way. In her second year, Elizabeth wanted to take a more active roll not only to fulfill her aspirations of utilizing her innovative ideas, but also to give back to the community, mentors, friends, and members who had been with her along the way. She was the Research Director for the Sponsorship Council, which really honed in on one of her passions: communication. Outside of FBLA, Elizabeth is a member of her school's Varsity swim team, participates in 4 other clubs (her favorite being Speech and Debate where she is the Debate Captain), and plays piano. She loves reading, creating jewelry, and going out with her friends to get boba. FBLA has brought her a newfound sense of confidence as well as sharpened her public speaking skills. She hopes this year that she will be able to inspire the next generation of FBLA members and leaders to develop a greater sense of community, and she wants to implement more resources to contribute to the success of Arizona FBLA members in the club and in the future. Elizabeth is most passionate about giving members more opportunities that she didn't have to succeed as true leaders in the business world and make an eternal impact on students like her who want to explore but are afraid.
